Gratitude
The weekend has ended, it’s back to work again tomorrow. Busy season at my job lasts for months and though usually exhausted by the end of the week, you try to enjoy the opportunities that life throws your way. It was certainly that time this weekend. Despite the insane amount of work that I’ve had in the past couple of weeks, this weekend we were to get out and attend a show from my favorite local band, Urban Rebel. This group is phenomenal and they are going to go far. The sky is the limit for this group and I’m excited at the very thought of it. From the very moment that show begins they instantly grab your attention with their high energy and their passion. Have I mentioned how talented they are? It is definitely a group you want to keep you eye on and if you’re ever in town and can catch a performance, do it. You won’t regret it, I promise.
On a more personal note, I wanted to take a moment to thank them for being so good to their fans. I for one am very impressed with just how much they love and appreciate us. On my last post I had mentioned just how important it is to have appreciation in life. Well, these guys really do appreciate even the smallest of things and for that, I am thankful. I have nothing but respect for these guys. In a world where most bands are quick to get arrogant, they are the polar opposite. They see the love they get and they return it ten fold. I for one can attest to that.
The first time I ever went to one of their performance, Trip, the lead vocalist took the time to come out after the show and thank all of us for attending. I had never seen anyone ever take that effort. It was such a breath of fresh air compared to what I have experienced before. Imagine my surprise when showed their love of my photos. I don’t even think they’re that good and yet here they are complimenting me on them and even sharing them with other fans. It such a great feeling to know that you there is appreciation for the effort you make.
This weekend’s show was no different. We don’t own a car and with public transportation, making it all the way out to Hollywood at that late of an hour would have been impossible, so we rented a car. For obvious financial reasons it is something I can’t do regularly, however I do not regret this particular instance in the slightest. They were fantastic. It was well worth the rental to see them, as they had the place jumping. My pictures could have turned out better, yet even if none of them would have turned out, I still would have had a great time. I sincerely cannot wait until the next one.
That’s it for now. I still have a bit more to do before the night is over. There’s a post on my photography blog I must complete. I really did just want to say thank you. Trip, Elisa, Jim Bob and Laslo, your guys are great. Keep rising to the top.
