Times, they are a-Changin
I know, I know, I’m terrible at this blogging thing. I can’t help it at times. Life has had me busy. I’ve been working on a few things and they have taken priority. It is completely unavoidable, I promise. I do have a bit of good news to share with you, though. One of those “things” I have worked on has been to get us a car.
That’s right, after years of being carless due to my lovely Diamond drowning in the great flood of Aventura back in 2010, I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Mini Cooper. His name is Bubo and I can’t stop smiling about it. It feels so good finally being able to be readily mobile. Getting around on public transportation has positively held me back the past few years. Yes, I managed on getting to work, etc., though the rest of life’s living was made that much more difficult by having to work out the “ride” situation when time or distance was an issue.
Now it isn’t going to take us 3 hours to get anywhere and I don’t have to ask from others when it comes to getting to some places. For example, getting rats to feed my snakes or even cat litter. Yes, we would sneak around on the bus or even walk at times, but I don’t think I need to elaborate how much a pain in the ass that really was. I also hated asking for help from anyone, though I am incredibly thankful my mom would offer more often than not. I simply dislike being a burden to anyone nor the thought of relying on others. Somewhere between my independent nature and my pride, there was just no room to ask. Yes, I’m stubborn, though it’s gotten me to where I am in life. Now, I can return to being free to fly when need be.
So now, I present to you, Bubo. For those of you not familiar with the name, look up the owl in the movie Clash of the Titans. It’s one of my favorite movies, despite how cheesy it is and I love owls. Plus, the car kind of looks like the character, too.
