Get in Gears
If anyone knows anything about me, they know I love music. I basically enjoy all types of music, except for maybe Bachata. That being said, I am blessed to have friends who are musicians. Amazing friends that support and encourage me, especially with my photography. It’s a winning situation for me. I go out to support them and I get to discover and listen to all different types of bands, taking pictures along the way. In fact, going to local spots and checking out live music is one of my favorite past times. I need to have photography and music in my life. They are as vital as air for me.
While I don’t get out much as of late, I still manage to get my fix. This weekend my fix came in the form of sitting in with a new band, Gears, laying down some guitar tracks for their début EP. Let me begin by saying how excited I will be when I finally get to hear the finished product. They’ve been teasing the world with posts on their Facebook page, yet their sound is completely under wraps. Only a few people are in on it and I’m thankful I am one of them. These guys are putting some mad hours into this project and the hard work is showing in their sound. Man, they are sounding sick. They even got Corey Lowery from EYE EMPIRE, Stuck Mojo etc producing and recording with them. I don’t think anyone is ready for this.
I definitely suggest keeping up with them on their Facebook page so you know when it’s going to drop. It will be…SOON.
GEARS IS MADE UP OF FOUR GUYS FROM FOUR SEPARATE PROJECTS: ENDO, SKINMASK, URBAN REBEL AND SCARLET CARSON. WE ARE BRINGING INFLUENCES FROM ALL GENRES OF MUSIC TO CREATE THIS SOUND AND ITS ROCKIN
GEARS DOES NOT LET GENRES DEFINE WHO WE ARE. GEARS IS MUSIC , TIMELESS MUSIC AND WE STRIVE TO WRITE MUSIC THAT MOVES US ALL.

In the meanwhile, here are my shots from the night. They aren’t my usual style as I didn’t want to get in the way of the genius. I also wish I could have sat in on drums, bass and vocals. Unfortunately I have a day job though that requires mad hours and I’m practically locked up during the week. All the same, I had a blast. Even when we hit the local pool hall for some down time. I’m not as rusty as I thought.
