Hello readers. It’s the Queen here bringing to you another post to think about. Or not. It’s entirely up to you.

I was spending a bit of quality time with a friend of mine yesterday and we were discussing my earlier post here about society on a whole losing it’s ability to communicate real feelings. Yes, this friend actually took the time to not only read my post, but to engage me in conversation and exchange thoughts and points of view with me. It was and still is greatly appreciated. Out of the all the likes received on the previous post, according to the stats here on my site, not many people actually read it, and out of all the likes and views, only two actually gave their lovely two cents.

I want to bare myself if ever so slightly now. I want to share a portion of what only those closest to me are privy to. If not to give hope, then to let it be known that for any feeling the same as I had, you are not alone. You see, with the joys in my life, I have also undergone a great deal of pain. From abusive relationships, a troubled family life, loss of loved ones, mentally unhealthy work environments, etc.

Hello all you beautiful people. It’s the Queen checking in after a lovely birthday weekend. I was just sitting here thinking how it isn’t until recently that my birthdays have been something I’ve looked forward to. For the longest time, I had thought that despite my birthday landing on two lucky numbers, I was surely dealt a shitty deck when it came to celebrating my birth anniversary. That is until recently. Last year began something that has turned the outlook on my birthday completely around. Maybe it has to do with my cutting the bullshit out of my life, or maybe it’s been my attitude in general, I am not sure. Regardless of what the reasoning for it is, I am thankful.

Hello again, readers. I know it’s been weeks, if not months, of very sporadic posts on my part. It is not my intention to be away for so long, though I will admit that I have not had much time even to myself as of late. My to-do list has reached its longest point in a long time and mix in some 50+ work hours every week and that does not allow for much time at all. So far it has proven to be quite worth it. Well, not really in the job department, rather more so in my personal life. I have a lot of things “taken care of” so to speak. For one thing, I have somewhat been able to return to my photography.

Every day that passes, I find myself thankful that all has worked out in the way it has. Sure, perhaps there are things that may not have happened as I would have liked. However, it all has occurred in the fashion that I needed for them to. As the saying goes, you can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need. Good, bad or indifferent, it has been just so. I have lost a lot of not so great things, only to have them replaced by wondrous ones.

Enough can’t be said about appreciation and gratitude, yet so often there is none. Human beings have become so greedy. Now it is not about “thank you”, nor “I appreciate it”. It has become more of a “well, now that you did that, can you do this?” People expect so much, yet offer so little. The sadder part of it is they dare then complain when someone says they cannot. Perhaps I’m speaking too generally. Maybe it is only I that seems to attract this type of persona; who knows, I might have the word “sucker” written on my forehead. Regardless, it gets old. One can only do so much for another before they begin to take away from themselves. The least someone else can do is acknowledge and be grateful for that being done. Read more “Reflection” →
